On this week’s livestream we announced Quinly for Prusa i3, a product we’ve been working on for months. Through working with beta testers and refining small details, we’ve been able to make a kit that allows users to get even more prints out of their already hyper capable prusa printers. This upgrade will allow Prusa users, especially print farm operators, great increases in output along with a decrease in human hours to get the same great print results. Unlike Ender 3s, Prusa printers come out of the box with the ability to easily and reliably print nearly all 3D printing materials, so the Quinly kit can be fully optimized for the stock setup. Prusa i3s are made to be ready for large production runs, and Quinly can now extend that to work with even less human hours.
Most of the mods we showcase on mod Monday already come stock on the Prusa, so you can be sure that you’ll have a great automated printing experience right out of the box with Quinly added to it as well. The Prusa i3 mk3 and mk3s both have filament runout sensors, pinda bed levelling probes, and an all metal hotend with direct drive extruder. These are all popular upgrades with the Ender 3 users in our Discord, so it’s very convenient that Prusa includes these features on their stock printer. These upgrades make for a greatly improved overall experience with print looping. For instance, auto bed levelling ensures that the printer has consistent prints every time it loops, and the all metal hotend allows you to make use of the VAAPR bed’s adhesion with advanced materials.
The VAAPR bed adheres directly to the stock spring steel sheet for easy setup.
Prusa uses i3s to manufacture the parts that they then sell as a part of the i3 kit, so the machines are put through thousands of hours of printing without failing. With the Quinly upgrade, you can use that reliability and print 24/7 without having to hire someone to scrape parts off and clean the bed after every print. Quinly and the printer work together to get through all of the grunt work so you can just send your files and end up with a large box of parts at the end of the day. This gives you more time to design, build, and live your life!
The Prusa printer is really what our Quinly system was made for. It’s a reliable workhorse that has just enough features to be useful, without overwhelming the user. This kit is one of the few upgrades that will make a large improvement on the performance you will get out of your printer since the Prusa already comes so well equipped from the factory. The new Quinly for Prusa kit is available for presale now and will include the newest version of our software for free. This means it will have all the advantages talked about in our previous Mod Monday Blog and even more as they are rolled out by our development team. What will you print with your Quinly? Send us pictures of your creations on social media for a chance to be featured in one of our next livestreams!
